Collect machine data with the new Omron NJ1 controller
The introduction of the NJ1 controller further enhances the NJ product offering from Omron and allows customers to directly connect to various database formats using a low cost entry level controller.
Database Functionality
The new NJ1 is available with database connectivity functionality which allows customers to collect and store machine data directly to common database formats such as SQL and Oracle without the need of special middleware. This data is secure in the event of the server going down or losing the communication network as data is stored in the internal memory. With speeds of 1000 element/100ms possible, big data collection is realistic ensuring plants can improve productivity and predict maintenance intervals.
NJ1 Controller
The NJ1 controller is also ideal for machines with a low number of motion axes, with two processors offering 2 physical axes, 4 virtual axes or none at all. With architecture that can quickly incorporate the latest information communication technology (ICT), Sysmac offers a highly innovative manufacturing environment. It does this by creating a variety of application functionalities with software and by connecting with third party factory automation hardware and design tools such as 3D simulators.
Sysmac Automation Platform
Since the release of NJ5 in 2011, Omron has offered application engines that include database connectivity and robotics and has also expanded the range of peripheral devices such as high-speed I/O Units, Drives, Safety Components and Vision Sensors. The release of this new Machine Automation Controllers enables Sysmac to be even more easily adopted at production sites. By leveraging the benefits of Sysmac, Omron creates innovative solutions by harnessing its Sensing and Control technology, its accumulated know-how, and its collaboration with third parties.
